Energy efficient backup appliance

TADASoft : 18 August, 2009  (New Product)
The Restorepoint RSP-500 backup appliance from TADASoft helps companies meet their data protection requirements whilst consuming low levels of power
TADASoft, a multi-award winning vendor of innovative network infrastructure configuration backup appliances is helping organisations of all sizes Go Green by launching the new energy efficient RSP-500 appliance.

The new Restorepoint RSP-500 low-power appliance runs at less than 60W Peak (a light bulb) and 42W idle. The appliance brings the next generation of low powered server to you today. Utilizing the very best components the new RSP-500 gives the high level of reliability and features you would expect from TADASoft but in a very small form factor and tiny power envelope.

Commenting on the release of the new low powered RSP-500, Rory Nolan Director of TADASoft said "Our customers want to remain as environmentally efficient as possible so the new low power and space saving components of the RSP-500 means that the appliance can still handle up to 500 network device backups but only consume the same amount of power as your average 60W light bulb. The price will also remain the same at £7,495 for a 3 year bundle"

If you compared the appliance to even its closest rivals which are often underutilized themselves, the power savings are dramatic. In most cases it is possible to run twice the number of Restorepoint RSP-500 appliances in the place of standard single CPU equivalent servers based on Xeon 3000 or Core processors.

The new Restorepoint RSP-500 is available now through our worldwide channel partners.

Restorepoint currently supports the following vendors; Alcatel, Cisco, NetApp, Array Networks, ConSentry Network, Nokia, Barracuda Networks, Extreme Network,Nortel,Bloxx,F5 Networks, McAfee, Blue Coat, Fortinet, Proofpoint, Brocade, HP, Riverbed, Check Point, Juniper Networks, Watchguard. New device support is added free of charge.
