End To End Embedded Video Analytics Employed By Synectics

ObjectVideo : 06 May, 2010  (Application Story)
ObjectVideo has granted OV Ready certification to Synectics for implementing full video analytics interoperability across its range of products including the company's Video Management System
Synectic Systems Group, (Synectics), a supplier of integrated high-level surveillance and security systems for specialised vertical markets, and ObjectVideo have announced that Synectics is the first manufacturer to offer an end-to-end Video Analytics enabled OV Ready certified solution.

The Synectics solution includes the Synergy security management software platform and the Synectics e100i single channel edge-based encoder, offering users a total end-to-end analytics solution. It recently earned OV Ready Premier certification, which allows the industry's highest level of analytics interoperability for both the VMS software and the device. This compliance level provides Synectics Synergy customers with a greater variety of intelligent devices from which to choose, and it allows Synectics device customers to more easily work within the video management environment they have already chosen.

"Synectics is proud to be the first manufacturer to bring to market an end to end OV Ready solution," said David Aindow, business development director, Synectics. "We work closely with ObjectVideo to provide intelligent solutions for the benefit of our customers and through achieving compliancy for both the e100i and Synergy security management software, we can offer the market freedom of choice when selecting their analytics enabled solutions."

OV Ready is the XML-based intelligent video network protocol that standardizes ObjectVideo analytic rule, alert and configuration communications. Driven by the value of OV Ready, the network of video management software (VMS) products, physical security information management (PSIM) platforms, and ObjectVideo-enabled devices of all kinds continues to expand and grow in the market.

"The release of the Synectics end-to-end intelligent solution will provide integrators and users much greater flexibility of implementation options," said Brian Baker, VP sales and professional services for ObjectVideo. "As a strong global company with experience outside of traditional security, Synectics is the ideal partner to offer this comprehensive solution - an ObjectVideo OnBoard embedded device coupled with a fully OV Ready VMS."

Synergy security management software now allows full support of the Synectics e100i edge-based analytic encoders capabilities to allow remote configuration of rule sets, and the receipt of analytics events to provide a wide range of alarm and event scenarios to system operatives. The e100i encoder is available with three video analytic packages, iSYNX-200, iSYNX-1000 and iSYNX-ECS, providing industry leading video content analysis features such as the ObjectVideo patented Video TripWire, areas of interest, object classification, people counting and a variety of rule sets to allow detection of taken or abandoned objects, counter flow detection and loitering amongst others.

ObjectVideo analytics will be demonstrated on the Synectics stand at IFSEC, Stand F10, Hall 4. ObjectVideo's Baker will participate in a panel with Synectics on advanced video and data analytics. The panel, Dataveillance: The New Breed of Surveillance, takes place Tuesday May 11th at 1:45 p.m. at the Hall 4 seminar theatre.
