Emergency services show interest in incident response technology.

Excelerate Technology : 30 April, 2008  (New Product)
BAPCO exhibition proved fruitful for Excelerate after receiving considerable interest for mobile communications technology for the emergency services.
Excelerate Technology received considerable interest from all the emergency services throughout the recent BAPCO exhibition. The company was using the exhibition to unveil the range of communication technologies that will be deployed after winning a major contract to equip a new generation of Mobile Incident Response Vehicles (MIRV). This contract forms part of a national multi million pound framework agreement, Europe's largest, which was awarded by the NHS for the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) initiative.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue provided delegates with an opportunity to see Excelerate Technology's solutions in its new Incident Command Unit which was parked outside the exhibition hall. According to Olaf Baars, Deputy Chief Fire Officer at Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue: "We are delighted to take delivery of our new Incident Command Unit, which will provide seamless voice and data communications with HQ and interoperability with other blue light services. The finished vehicle has exceeded our initial project expectations and will serve us well for the next fifteen years."

During the exhibition, Excelerate Technology also announced the award of a major contract to equip the first four of a new fleet of Command and Control vehicles for the Garda, Ireland's national police service.

David Savage, CEO of Excelerate Technology commented: "The interest that we received at BAPCO confirms our position as the leading supplier of mobile communications solutions that enable the emergency services to deliver more effective support and the resilience to meet civil contingency responsibilities."

Excelerate Technology is the UK's leading provider of integrated video, voice and data solutions for use by the emergency services in a wide range of mobile incident response applications. The company provides a range of products, solutions and transmission technologies including mobile satellite and RapidNet Private GSM to deliver effective communications without having to rely on existing mobile or PSTN services. Excelerate also has a strong presence in a range of local authority, education, medical and commercial market sectors.
