Embedded video counter for people or cards

Mate Intelligent Video : 28 August, 2007  (New Product)
Bidirectional car and people counter from Mate Intelligent Video can be embedded into any existing analogue CCTV camera
Mate Intelligent Video has released iSense/IM, a DSP based embedded device including built-in video analytics. This compact and cost-effective product automatically detects and counts people and cars via overhead cameras as they enter or exit an area of interest.

iSense/IM allows maximum flexibility and easy installation. The unit can be positioned anywhere within the premises, next to the camera or at a distance from it, consequently allowing for a best fit solution according to the end user's system architecture. iSense/IM can be connected to any analogue camera.

People counting provides business critical information for retailers by helping them to understand shopping patterns and the effect of advertising campaigns. In addition the solution assists in effectively allocating and managing sales personnel. By comparing customer traffic with point-of-sale information, the retailer is able to obtain the customer conversion ratio. Public venues like stadiums can use these counts, estimate the number of spectators and increase safety and the ease of crowd control.

Car Counting can assist the management of car parks by estimating the occupancy on each parking level. For commercial car parks car counting provides an independent audit of entries and exits that can be compared to reported data.
"iSense/IM is a great advancement for retailers and facility managers who would like to assess the traffic flow in their facilities using any camera in a simple and convenient way" says Adiv Baruch, CEO of Mate. "iSense/IM shows innovation by its ability to generate flexible reports delivered via a web browser by means of a low cost embedded product that can cover hundreds of counting points and data. iSense/IM is our answer to the key demands of our clients."

iSense/IM gathers information received from the camera and stores it on a data base. The user is then able to access the information via the Web Reporter, a web-based application that retrieves and presents stored counting data from the database. The Web Reporter provides a number of report formats and report views, and the user is able to view reports according to his specific requirements: Data per a specific date or a range of dates, hourly reports or monthly reports.
iSense/IM has the advantages of a low cost installation, low maintenance, a robust technology and ease of use.
