Educational software keeps children out of the Internet danger zone

The Learning Bubble : 08 September, 2009  (New Product)
Software from The Learning Bubble enables parents to maintain control over younger children's computer activities and preventing certain internet and gaming activities
Do you struggle to keep your 5-12 year olds on task at homework time? Help is now at hand with the launch of The Learning Bubble (tlb), a powerful piece of software featuring a special learning desktop that creates an interruption-free environment in which children can learn - similar to a quiet study at home. The Learning Bubble lets parents have complete control over which internet sites their children can visit between specific times, preventing unwanted interruptions by blocking instant messaging, unauthorised websites, games and email during homework time.

Research conducted by The Learning Bubble and Qubiq Online revealed that 65% of parents questioned would like help blocking instant messaging and social networking sites while their child is doing school work on the computer while three quarters of parents surveyed thought there should be a stronger connection between school and home by using the internet.

Easy to install, tlb software comes complete with learning aids, quizzes, games and a growing list of educational websites, carefully chosen for their relevance to the curriculum. A Learning Button enables users to log onto their own school's learning platform, an online system designed to support teaching and learning.

Research has shown that parental involvement in children's education from an early age has a significant effect on educational achievement, and continues to do so into adolescence and adulthood. The Learning Bubble provides the perfect opportunity for parents to become more involved in their children's homework, helping them to find the appropriate sites to source exactly what they need.

Within its research, tlb also found that nearly two thirds of parents would like help setting specific homework and leisure times for their child on the computer. Using tlb parents can define in half hourly increments how much time should be dedicated to homework and determine which sites may be accessed, while tracking the URLs their children have visited via an activity log. All tlb products feature a direct link to the Child Exploitation & Online Protection (CEOP) agency where children or parents can report inappropriate or suspicious behaviour, harmful content, cyber bullying, hacking and viruses.

The Learning Bubble is available to download now and is competitively priced at just £12.60. A free 15-day trial is also available.
