Educational IT protection supplier to exhibit at BETT 2010 in January

Brightfilter : 25 November, 2009  (Company News)
Visitors to Brightfilter's stand at the BETT 2010 show will be able to pick up the company's parental control software and gain the chance to win a 2GB biometric encrypted USB key
Brightfilter, a provider of web filtering solutions to the education sector, will be demonstrating its latest range of products at BETT, 13-16 January 2010. Visitors are invited to stand B59 to experience the range of powerful solutions for protecting pupils online, including BoundaryServer web filtering for students, the McAfee Total Protection Service and Brightfilter Parental Control software, to extend protection beyond the school gates. Visitors will also be able to learn about the latest data protection solutions with the launch of Brightfilter's new Secure Offsite Backup service and the chance to win one of four McAfee biometric encrypted USB keys, each worth £130.

BoundaryServer provides the highest level of online protection for primary, secondary, public and private schools. The powerful web filter sits at the gateway between the school network and the internet to check all content that passes through. Any viruses, malware and unsuitable content are removed, to ensure pupils, staff and the technology are protected from inappropriate and harmful material. All web activity is logged and reported, enabling individual user information to be tracked and monitored. BoundaryServer allows individual user profiles to be created to offer a tailored level of internet access for both students and staff.

McAfee's Total Protection Service range offers powerful security against the wide variety of threats in today's online landscape. The effective security protects school networks by safeguarding desktops, file and email servers from illicit content, malicious websites, spam, spyware and viruses. The single, integrated Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) is easy to install and maintain, ensuring that pupils, staff and technology remain protected from the growing number of online hazards. Managed at one central unit, the service replaces the need for multiple boxes, reducing power output and driving cost down.

McAfee Biometric Encrypted USB keys ensure a highly secure method of transporting sensitive data across locations. As the Data Protection Act (DPA) legally requires schools to safeguard pupil information, it is imperative that teachers lock down any data they carry around. To access information on a McAfee Encrypted USB device, users must authenticate themselves using a password or fingerprint, or both, for maximum security. BETT delegates can visit the Brightfilter stand for the chance to win one of four McAfee biometric 2GB USB keys worth £130 each.

Brightfilter Secure Offsite Backup is a new solution that provides a DPA compliant method of safeguarding sensitive school data. Due for launch at BETT 2010, the fully managed service provides automatic daily backups to a high security data centre in the UK, freeing up staff time and reducing the possibility of human error. Transferred data is encrypted at all times to ensure the highest level of protection and meet DPA legal requirements. Information is also replicated to secure servers in other locations, to improve safety measures and aid disaster recovery.

Brightfilter Parental Control software protects families from illicit material and online threats such as pornography, identity theft, illegal sites, malicious software and phishing scams. Powered by McAfee technology, Brightfilter's database is updated automatically every day to provide highly effective, powerful online protection. One click filtering and customisable user profiles enable the software to be easily set up in less than a minute. Delegates of BETT can visit stand B59 to receive a free six month copy of the Brightfilter Parental Control software.
