East Midlands security staff audit

Security Industry Authority : 28 September, 2009  (Company News)
Door staff and security guards have been checked for license compliance in the East Midlands towns of Ashby de la Zouch and Coalville
High compliance with licensing regulations was found during checks on security staff working at sites in Ashby and Coalville including the Ashby De La Zouch annual fair last Friday.

All door staff and contract security guards must hold a Security Industry Authority licence and must display this while working.

Licensing officers from North West Leicestershire District Council and SIA investigators checked 13 security guards. All held valid licences. Three operatives were issued with warnings for failing to display their licence.

Nigel Davies, an SIA Head of Investigation said: "It is encouraging that all security staff checked were working with valid SIA licences. However, operatives are also reminded that they must comply with all licence conditions - including displaying the licence at all times while working."
