Early warning system prevents arson damage at construction site

Tag Guard : 23 October, 2008  (Application Story)
Smoke and fire detection system from Tag Guard prevents arson attack from losing control
An arson attack on 60 flats being built by Clayfield Construction at Normanton in West Yorkshire was prevented from getting out of control by the early warning from the Tag Guard Fire Alert system being used at the site. Smoke from the fire activated the Tag Alarm detectors that sent a signal to Tag Guard's remote monitoring station. Tag Guard's monitoring team alerted the on-site security personnel who then called the fire service. Fortunately the fire was brought under control before any significant damage resulted.

Better known for their anti-theft and anti vandalism security systems, Tag Guard have also developed a range of fire alarm products based on the same proven wireless technology. More stringent Health & Safety legislation along with insurance policy requirements mean that, increasingly, construction sites must now have adequate fire control and fire alarm measures in place. The Tag Guard range is well suited to these needs because their products are wireless, portable and backed up by a remote monitoring station which is manned day and night, throughout the year. As the TagAlarm Fire Alert products are portable they can easily be moved to new locations or positions as a building or construction site progresses.

In addition to "break glass" units that can be also supplied with a klaxon, the range comprises smoke detectors specially developed for building sites because they are less sensitive to dust
