E-mail Systems SaaS now trading under Webroot brand.

Webroot Software : 19 February, 2008  (Company News)
Re-branding following merger uses power of Webroot name in marketing key software as a service products for E-mail Systems.
Web and email management specialist Email Systems is to fully adopt the Webroot Software brand significantly ahead of schedule as the result of a highly successful integration process which has followed the merger between the two businesses in November 2007. Email Systems is to fully assume the Webroot brand in key regions including the UK, along with the Scandinavia, Benelux and APAC regions.

"The power of the Webroot brand and our global infrastructure, combined with Email Systems market momentum in software as a service solutions, will provide a powerful security offering for business," said Mike Irwin, COO, Webroot. "With the growth in spam and so much malware finding its way into corporate networks from the Web, we feel that having an industry-leading SaaS-based perimeter security solution is vital to companies and especially for SMBs who can't find or afford the required expertise."

The integration process has been led by Neil Hammerton, former CEO of Email Systems, who is now VP of SaaS Development at Webroot. Specifically the integration process to date has included training of a global sales force that is now able to offer the SaaS offering, the launch of a toll-free 'follow-the-sun' tech support service and additional data centres being developed in the US and APAC to further bolster the service's capacity.

"Although we have built an excellent brand over the past five years, our growth has always been organic. As a business, we have invested more heavily in developing our technology and a leading edge service than in awareness marketing," said Hammerton. "Consequently, the marriage of Email Systems' technology with Webroot's brand and infrastructure is an ideal platform for offering our security SaaS solutions on a global stage."

Webroot® E-Mail Security SaaS is to be offered exclusively via Webroot's global network of reseller partners, including each of Email Systems' partners globally. A key benefit of this move for resellers is the increased brand awareness that will result from the marketing investment in a single brand, rather than dual brands in certain territories. As a sign of the positive transition, Email Systems has successfully retained every member of its staff and all of its partners and customers.

Having just increased its spam detection service level agreement (SLA) from 95 to 98 percent, well above many competitors, development of the Webroot E-mail Security SaaS service is set continue apace over the coming months. Forthcoming developments on the IT Roadmap are to include file compression technology, data leakage protection and advanced archiving features all of which are to be rolled out over the next quarter.

"The overall development of our SaaS solutions is accelerating and we will ensure that the technology at the heart of the Email Systems offering drives Webroot Security SaaS to become the global SaaS technology leader," added Irwin.
