DPA Compliance, Data Loss Prevention and Asset Protection Combine in VigilancePro 5.0

Overtis Systems : 16 March, 2010  (New Product)
Overtis has released the latest version of its enterprise information protection software, VigilancePro with enhanced scalability and new configuration and reporting features
Overtis has launched VigilancePro 5.0. The integrated security software can be rapidly deployed across large environments to prevent data loss, protect company assets and prove compliance with regulations such as the Data Protection Act, which carries fines of up to £500,000 from 6th April 2010.

As an integrated endpoint and physical security product, VigilancePro 5.0 now supports a wider range of CCTV systems, as well as providing a number of new configuration and reporting features.Overtis' Encrypted Vault Manager (EVM) is also included as standard within VigilancePro 5.0. Overtis EVM is a desktop-based application which allows users to easily encrypt, store and securely share data. VigilancePro then ensures that only encrypted data is copied to authorised removable media or mobile devices, or attached to emails.

Terminal Services support enables enterprises to create secure zones, where access to data can be centrally managed and tightly controlled. The new product supports multiple back end servers, enabling separate servers to be deployed for different geographies, business units, or functions. Enhanced role-based access gives VigilancePro administrators the ability to control exactly who has access to what information. For example, IT and Compliance teams see only the information that is relevant to them. Support for Networked Servers allows for unprecedented scalability and flexibility, particularly in larger deployments.

The VigilancePro 5.0 Manager software includes a range of new features that simplify ease of use and greatly enhance reporting. Reports of server, endpoint, physical access control and CCTV activity can be automatically run and emailed to the appropriate people. For severe and critical events, immediate alerts can be sent to management - as well as security personnel - via email or SMS text message. By allowing notifications of irregular activity to be flagged and forwarded, VigilancePro 5.0 enables enterprise personnel to rapidly respond to potential security breaches from any location, as they are occurring.

"When an enterprise has suffered a security breach, or is threatened with huge fines for loss of data, the priority is to quickly deploy an overarching solution that provides visibility of the way that data is accessed, handled and transferred within the organisation, so it can pinpoint areas of risk, enforce good practice and comply with regulatory requirements," said Ed Macnair, CEO of Overtis. "With VigilancePro 5.0 support for Terminal Services, agent deployment takes less than sixty seconds and the automated encryption, policy generation and reporting capabilities ensure that it gets to work immediately, reducing the risk of data loss by at least 70 per cent as soon as we flick the switch."
