Door Automation Technology On Show At IFSEC

FAAC : 13 April, 2011  (New Product)
FAAC is attending the IFSEC security show this year in the UK with the latest energy saving automatic door technology with the A140 AIR

FAAC UK will be unveiling its A140 AIR door automation system at this year’s IFSEC event. With the ability to detect direction of movement and minimise air loss, the revolutionary A140 AIR offers energy savings of up to 40% compared with standard automatic door systems.

This is achieved through an inbuilt monodirectional sensor which can identify the walking direction of the pedestrian, so that the doors only fully open if a person is walking towards them. Unlike the standard automatic doors, which often stay open much longer than necessary, the A140 uses information from the sensor to optimise opening/closing times to reduce air loss and energy consumed by internal air-conditioning and heating systems. In many cases the A140 can be retro-fitted to the existing door for an immediate cost-saving solution.

FAAC will also be demonstrating a prototype of its first hybrid barrier, the B650. Combining the high performance benefits of hydraulics with the energy efficiency of 24V motor, the B650 features LED strips, both along the beam and integrated into the barrier housing, for perfect visibility in all conditions. An integrated encoder ensures the beam is perfectly controlled in any position and can react if an obstacle is detected. The beam speed can be adjusted through the integrated control board, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications.

Also debuting at IFSEC will be the low voltage C721 sliding gate operator. Requiring almost half of the power required by other operators currently on the market, the C721 sliding gate operator features the FAAC patented cyclo gearbox which boasts a mechanical efficiency of over 80 per cent - up to two times higher than traditional gearboxes. Suitable for commercial and industrial applications, the C721 can move gates up to 800kg.

With more than 40 years’ experience, FAAC is a world leader in gate and door automation.  The company has manufacturing and development facilities in Italy and Ireland and distributes its products in more than 90 countries.  Within the UK, FAAC (UK) based in Basingstoke is the market leader in residential and commercial markets, which it serves through a national network of 800 approved installers, all trained to FAAC’s high standards.
