Digital radio communications network spans Saint Martin.
Zenitel is pleased to announce the launch of its 'ChuChubi Trunking Network' into the French regions of the Caribbean Island Saint Martin. Zenitel Caribbean has been active in the Caribbean for over 75 years, and has operated Digital Tetra Networks in the Netherlands Antilles since September 2004. With the new communication network, Saint Martin customers will be equipped on the highest level available as mission critical users.

Sint Maarten/Saint Martin, the smallest Island in the world ever to have been partitioned between two different nations, has been shared by the French and the Dutch in a spirit of neighborly cooperation for almost 350 years. The border is almost imperceptible yet all the same, each side has managed to retain much of the distinctiveness of its own national culture and official language.

In the past Zenitel Caribbean has conducted business with the Dutch region of Sint Maarten only, providing its ChuChubi digital radio communication technology. The company will now provide the same technology to the French side of the Island Saint Martin, potentially serving taxi associations, the Gendarmerie, the emergency services and logistics people. Zenitel will also distribute professional hand held radios from Motorola and EADS.

The ChuChubi Trunking Network is based on the TETRA protocol and offers services such as group call, full duplex PrivateCall, text messaging, priority traffic, emergency buttons, encryption, data transport and many more. Zenitel also delivers Vehicle Tracing Systems to allow customers to follow the exact position of their vehicles and portable radios on a map to improve the security and efficiency of the workforce. For larger customers, Zenitel offers turnkey dispatch centres with touch screen operation and 24 hour voice logging.
