Digital investigations conference to be held in Las Vegas.

Guidance Software : 25 April, 2008  (Technical Article)
Computer forensics and enterprise investigation technology to be the subject of the Guidance Software annual conference on Digital Investigation Technology.
Guidance Software will once again bring together professionals from around the world to learn about the latest advancements in the field of digital investigations at the eighth annual Computer and Enterprise Investigations Conference (CEIC). The event takes place next week between April 27 and 30 at Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort.

CEIC has earned the reputation for being the most respected digital investigation technology conference in the world. It offers attendees at all skill levels the opportunity to attend courses led by the world's foremost experts in computer forensics and cybercrime investigations; eDiscovery; data auditing and compliance; information assurance; internal investigations; and computer incident response. It also provides attendees with the opportunity to network with their peers and exchange best practices.

The theme of CEIC 2008—Working Together to Advance Digital Investigations—reflects the growing importance of cross-company collaboration in digital investigations, as professionals in law enforcement, corporate IT, corporate legal departments, and government agencies increasingly find that success today is reliant upon working with colleagues from different departments in their respective organizations.

In line with the theme of the conference, this year's keynote address will focus on how to drive innovation through teamwork. It will be delivered by former Astronaut James Lovell, commander of the Apollo 13 mission and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, who will illustrate through his own experiences how professionals can work together to resolve many of the fundamental challenges in their organisations today.

"CEIC has earned a reputation for being the leading global digital investigations conference because it consistently offers attendees access to thought-provoking lectures, hands-on labs, renowned instructors and a wide variety of domain experts," said Victor Limongelli, President and CEO, Guidance Software. "With over 1,000 participants this year, it will once again set new records in terms of attendees and exhibitors.'
