Digipass token for SafeBoot device encryption

SafeBoot : 05 September, 2007  (New Product)
Strong user authentication for enterprise data with seamless integration of Digipass 860 with Safeboot Device Encryption
SafeBoot has announced that Vasco Data Security International has joined its Certified Token Partners Program.

Vasco's Digipass 860 token now integrates seamlessly with SafeBoot Device Encryption version 5.1. For banks and other organisations in need of strong user authentication, digital signature functionality and hassle free remote user authentication, Digipass 860 already supported both PKI and one-time password generation (OTP) in one single product. It now also supports encryption of enterprise-wide data on hard drives and in files and folders: the on-board PKI functionality of the Digipass 860 is used by SafeBoot's unique PKI-enabled pre-boot authentication technology to secure access to the keys of both the authorised SafeBoot user and the hard disk(s) to which he has access.

"By partnering with Vasco, we are able to offer interoperable security solutions that provide peace-of-mind to organisations," said Frank Jorissen, vice president international business development at SafeBoot. "With SafeBoot and Vasco, sensitive files are fully protected whether they are stored on the hard drive, file server or any type of removable media."

"We are pleased with our participation in SafeBoot's Certified Token Partners Program" said Vasco President and COO Jan Valcke. "Thanks to this partnership with Safeboot, Vasco's products offer security to even more people worldwide. The combination of Vasco's Digipass 860 and Safeboot Device Encryption prevents fraudsters from stealing data from your computer as the authentication occurs in the pre-boot phase of the start-up of the computer — raising the security level of your entire company."

SafeBoot Certified Token Partners Program
SafeBoot, developer of the SafeBoot solutions and a market leader in mobile data encryption technology in 2006 launched a formal program to offer partners the opportunity to provide user authentication solutions that are certified to be interoperable with SafeBoot encryption solutions. The program, called Certified Token Partners Program, includes mandatory certification for participants and their products. Vasco's Digipass 860 token is "SafeBoot Certified."

With more than five-million users, SafeBoot's highly-scalable enterprise solutions are Common Criteria EAL4 and FIPS 140-1 and 140-2 certified, ensuring that they employ strong encryption and secure key management. SafeBoot is the data protection and access control solution of choice for more than 4,200 organisations in 76 countries, including banks, insurance companies, consultancy firms, governmental bodies, and health care organisations.
