DESlock+ Reader Extends Security To Unlicensed Users

Data Encryption Systems (DES) : 02 June, 2010  (New Product)
Sharing encrypted data with unlicensed clients, partners and colleagues made easy whilst maintaining security levels using DESlock+ Reader
Data Encryption Systems Limited (DES) announces the release of DESlock+ Reader. DESlock+ Reader is a free stand-alone reader application which allows DESlock+ users to maintain their security even when working with non-DESlock+-users. An innovative addition to the DESlock+ security solution range DESlock+ Reader will now enable a licenced user to encrypt an email with its attachments and an unlicensed recipient to decrypt it without needing to install anything. Solving the problem of how to maintain security when working with clients, colleagues or customers who aren't using DESlock+ DESlock+ Reader is an intuitive and reliable solution. The magic comes from the use of a simple, user friendly password or passphrase.

Communicating with non-secure users is always an issue and once again DESlock+ comes up trumps in finding a way around it. DESlock+ has always focussed on allowing secure sharing of information, with its patented key-sharing system and secure email so the addition of DESlock+ Reader to the DESlock+ portfolio answers the question of sharing information with non-protected users. DES Managing Director David Tomlinson comments:

"The need to transport and communicate data securely remains high on the agenda and is a regulatory must. We understand however that not everyone has access to a recognised encryption solution, such as DESlock+ and so we have developed DESlock+ Reader in order that our customer's data isn't compromised when they are working and sharing that data with non-DESlock+ users. Developing DESlock+ Reader is addressing an area where we understand our customers have security concerns. The critical and key benefits of DESlock+ remain and users know that their company's information is protected but they are now accessible to a trusted recipient in possession of an agreed password. We are confident this will help many businesses who need to share data but also need the encryption guarantee."

DESlock+ helps organisations to protect against all types of data breach by offering simple, yet extremely powerful, encryption of documents, folders, disks and removable storage media, and computer systems. The solution is both Windows 7 compatible and FIPS 140-2 approved. The United States Federal Government is required to only purchase cryptographic products which are validated to the FIPS 140-2 standard and so this is a highly sought after and significant accreditation.
