Dell Extends Retail Solutions Offering

Surveillance, digital signage and point-of-sale solutions added to the Dell range of retail systems as well as new partnerships enabling retailers to make use of a wider range of products and services
Dell has extended its Retail Solutions portfolio with comprehensive offerings that address the unique needs of small and midsized retailers.

Available now in the United States and expanding globally in the coming quarters, Dell has developed end-to-end retail solutions to help growing businesses manage explosive data growth, improve security and serve customers more efficiently. From the storefront to the back office, Dell Retail Solutions group works with retailers to design, implement, and support technology solutions that ease business pain points and draw greater value from technology investments.

For the storefront, Dell offers fully integrated point-of-sale (POS), digital signage and surveillance solutions. Back-office offerings make it easier for retailers to manage their growing data needs, stay in control and protect their business by focusing on four distinct infrastructure needs – storage and virtualization, systems management, security, and disaster recovery.

Dell services for retailers affordably address key business problems with world class capabilities. As a primary service provider for the comprehensive retail solution, Dell offers:

* Dell Retail Gold Support that provides both Dell branded and third party support, enabling customers to add retail solution components as needed.

* Managed services include staging, deployment, and project management for the complete solution.

* Dell consulting to help design and implement business continuity and virtualization, create Retail POS and enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions using Dell’s All In Consulting Practice, payment card industry (PCI) auditing, compliance, and remediation services.

Dell is heralding retailers of all sizes into the future with secure, cloud support for application integration through newly acquired Boomi. Without requiring any additional hardware or software, Boomi integrates front-end and back-end applications and data sources, reducing the cost and complexity of integration for both internal and vendor applications. Also, with Dell KACE and SecureWorks, Dell is offering back-office support and security solutions that provide retailers remote management for POS terminals, cross-platform support and PCI compliance services.

In addition, Dell enables a broad network of pre-certified Retail Solutions combining independent software vendor (ISV) software with Dell hardware and services, removing direct sales barriers to customers via software certification and cooperative relationships between ISVs and Dell sales teams. With Dell, Microsoft and Positive Technology, retailers have a customized application that manages inventory, pricing, Point-of-Sale activities, purchasing, customer service, employee, and accounting information and the support needed to get up and running.
