Deadline approaching for the Crowded Places Challenge

Global Security Challenge : 23 October, 2009  (New Product)
Potential entrants to the Crowded Places Challenge have until the 30th October to submit their innovative ideas for protection of civilians in urban areas from terrorism
The second annual Crowded Places Challenge, sponsored by BAE Systems and the UK's Instinct programme, aims to uncover and nurture new security technology that will protect civilians from terrorism in urban areas.

Do you have an innovation that will bring fresh thinking to the problem of protecting the general public from the threat of terrorism in crowded urban environments? Can you improve the ability to understand and model crowd behaviour?

The winner of the Crowded Places Challenge will receive:

• £10,000 cash award
• Exclusive mentorship from an industry leader (tbc)
• Invaluable exposure and publicity

Entry is free and the deadline is Friday 30 October 2009

Entrants must have an innovative idea to apply. You do not need products, prototypes, business plans or fully-formed companies to be eligible. Ventures can have no more than £5 million GBP in annual revenues in 2008

Examples of the areas of interest for understanding and modelling crowd behaviour include, but are not limited to: software models, video analytics, behavioural analysis and cultural research.
