Data security and compliance focus by Nebulas at InfoSec

Nebulas Solutions : 29 April, 2009  (New Product)
Nebulas is using InfoSecurity Europe this week to demonstrate the means of preventing confidential data from leaving the company whilst maintaining compliance
Internal security is still the biggest threat to corporate data, according to Nick Garlick, Managing Director at Nebulas Solutions Group, the security, acceleration and Virtualisation specialist; commenting at the InfoSecurity show, he highlighted that around 60% of people who leave organisations take corporate information with them.

On stand E26, the Nebulas Solutions Group will highlight data security and demonstrate the most effective routes which customers can take to address their security challenges and meet their compliance goals.

Nick Garlick believes that visitors will be looking for practical solutions to their current data security challenges. He commented: "Organisations are now much more aware of threats to their data, security, but many still struggle to recognise that their employees pose a greater threat than hackers or criminals: around 60% of people leaving an organisation take data with them. This is a challenge for most businesses, which combined with the growing need to audit information and comply with legal and industry specific data security measures, means that organisations are facing a barrage of security burdens and challenges."

He continued; "To address this, we've brought together a comprehensive range of our partners' solutions which help our customers navigate the best route to meet their data security objectives and achieve their compliance goals."

Central to this approach will be Nebulas Solutions' extensive range of data security and compliance solutions from key vendors such as Symantec, PGP, Lumension, SanDisk and Varonis.

For users looking to prevent data loss, the stand will feature the Symantec DLP9 (formerly Vontu) suite which allows customers to discover, monitor and protect confidential data wherever it is stored or used. To secure data throughout an organisation, Nebulas Solutions' stand includes a demonstration of PGP's highly regarded encryption technologies. To help customers define, implement and manage effective security policies, the stand will also feature Varonis' unstructured data governance solutions. These give organisations visibility and control over their data so that only authorised users can access authorised data at all times.

To address customers' concerns surrounding data security for mobile devices and remote working, Nebulas Solutions will showcase a centrally managed, secure USB implementation from SanDisk. Demonstrated on stand, this enterprise data management software shows how organisations can deliver a secure, manageable policy for removable data.

Complementing SanDisk's technology, Nebulas Solutions' stand also includes Lumension's Sanctuary solution which allows storage media such as CDs, USBs and other peripherals to be used in a secure, authorised way.

In addition to its security focus, Nebulas Solutions will also be showing several newly launched solutions, including VMinformer. This is the first dedicated tool to analyse virtual environments for security risks which do not conform to VMware's best security practices or meet DESA security guidelines for virtual infrastructures. PC based, this demonstration allows visitors a detailed "snapshot" of a virtual infrastructure's security status for the first time.

Also on show is Nebulas Solutions' "proof of concept" demonstration for automatic provisioning virtual servers. By combining virtual server capabilities with F5's application delivery expertise, visitors can see how a virtual infrastructure will automatically handle peaks and troughs in demand. Processing power is added at critical/busy periods and reduced when demand lessens - without the need for external intervention.
