Data Protection Solution Demonstration on Surveillance System Storage

Tandberg Data : 23 April, 2010  (New Product)
Tandberg Data is attending IFSEC in the UK in May with a joint demonstration of CCTV Surveillance image storage with encrypted data storage solution
Tandberg Data has announced that alongside ClearView Communications' surveillance cameras, it will be demonstrating a total CCTV solution with the new Tandberg Data DPS2000 acting as the storage backbone for data intensive CCTV imagery at the world's leading global security event, IFSEC2010 (NEC Birmingham, 10 -13 May, Hall 4 Stand E137).

"Users of CCTV require reliable, readily accessible and clear CCTV footage so they are looking for high capacity, encrypted technology to secure their assets." commented Marije Stijnen, vice president of marketing at Tandberg Data. "At the front end, ClearView's IP Cameras capture the crystal clear image and behind the scenes, the Tandberg Data DPS2000 securely provides the capacity and automation environment to store the CCTV footage. We have designed the combined CCTV solution factoring in increased capacity needs from images as both the length of storage time and quality of the images has increased exponentially. We view IFSEC2010 as the ideal location to demonstrate the total solution."

Paul Main, director, ClearView Communications, commented "There has, of course, been unprecedented growth in CCTV in recent years. Its role has shifted from crime prevention to also ensuring compliance and protection against future litigation - maintaining records for legal, insurance, financial, and health and safety purposes."

Visitors to the stand will also have the opportunity to see ClearView and Tandberg Data's total CCTV solution working on the latest generation of LTO-5 tape cartridges (the first opportunity to see Tandberg Data's LTO-5 drives since the launch on April 12, 2010). With Tandberg Data's LTO-5 hardware and media, not only do customers receive long term, high capacity, securely encrypted media, they receive it at a low cost per gigabyte (3p per GB as compared to 21p per GB for disk); and for those smaller organizations that prefer portable disk-based backup, ClearView's images will be captured on stand to a Tandberg Data RDX QuikStor 640GB drive.
