Corporate fraud expert speaks at ISACA event

ISACA : 31 December, 2009  (Technical Article)
A presentation on Ethical Leadership will be made by industry expert at ISACA's Computer Audit, Control and Security Conference to be held in April
ISACA, a global association of 86,000 IT and business professionals, will feature key speaker Cynthia Cooper at its 2010 North America Computer Audit, Control and Security (CACS) conference in Chicago. Cooper will deliver her presentation, titled Ethical Leadership in the 21st Century, on 18 April 2010 and will share observations from her time at WorldCom, where she and her team unravelled one of the largest corporate frauds in history.

Cooper is an internationally recognized speaker on ethical leadership, the current economic crises and recent scandals. She was named one of TIME magazine's Persons of the Year in 2002 and is one of only seven women who have ever received that distinction.

Currently, she is CEO of The CooperGroup, a firm that offers advisory and consulting services in the area of ethics and compliance, risk management, fraud prevention and detection, and internal audit. She is also the author of Extraordinary Circumstances, which discusses her experiences as a corporate executive and was called "one of the ten best of the best business books of 2008" by The Globe and Mail.

Cooper speaks and consults with organizations across the globe. She has worked with large cap public company clients, such as Dell, PepsiCo and Raytheon; public-sector entities at the federal and state level, such as the FBI's Office of Integrity and Compliance, the FBI's Criminal Investigative Division, the US Department of Interior, the US Department of Labour and the California State Auditors; and public accounting firms, such as Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Held 18-22 April 2010, ISACA's 40th annual North America CACS event is expected to attract nearly 1,000 IT audit, security, risk and governance professionals from around the world who will gather to discuss the latest business technology-related issues affecting enterprises.
