Converge 2010 User Conference Taking Place in Florida

Courion : 19 May, 2010  (Company News)
Courion's 8th Annual Conference is focussing on the discovery of new approaches to risk management and compliance
Courion has announced the start of the company's 8th annual user conference, Converge 2010, being held this week in Orlando at the Renaissance Hotel at Sea World. This year's theme "Discovering New Approaches to Managing Risk," focuses on ways companies can make use of user access process, policy and technology to manage risk and limit exposure of critical data.

"Our customers are constantly focused on the challenge of identifying and managing risk in their companies' complex and ever-changing environments," said Chris Zannetos, president and CEO of Courion. "Converge allows them to get together, discuss the successful access assurance techniques and solutions they are using, and network with their peers who are encountering the same issues. It fosters brainstorming new ways we can work together to overcome these challenges and improve access assurance - and by extension, manage risk."

At the conference, Courion, along with customers, partners and industry influencers will deliver case studies, interactive panels, and business strategy and technical sessions on new approaches to managing risk and GRC.

Highlights of the 2010 agenda include:

• A general session about the evolution of security and role of the CISO, led by Sundiata Alaye, SiriusXM Radio. In this session, Alaye explores some of the critical elements impacting information security, including the role of access assurance within and as a critical element of a holistic end-to-end security strategy. He also examines the role of the CISO and the need to be a true business partner and leader within the organization.
• A discussion on access assurance and data protection, led by Harold Byun, Symantec DLP and Kurt Johnson, Courion. This session looks at the value of integrating these two important functions. The session presents a customer case study on Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and a roadmap for tying these solutions together for a holistic security strategy for Risk Management and data protection.
• A panel discussion moderated by Burton Group's Ian Glazer, senior identity and privacy strategies analyst, on strategies for managing risk within an organization. The panel for this session includes Courion customers from Iowa Workforce Development, Universal American and the Lee Moffitt Cancer Centre.

"These events present great opportunities for IT managers, security professionals, and business leaders to share their identity management challenges and successes," said Ian Glazer, senior identity and privacy strategies analyst for Burton Group. "Bringing together a wide variety of customers from different industries fosters dynamic conversations, with healthcare execs and financial services IT managers discussing compliance reporting. This is the kind of conversation that can only be had by stepping outside of enterprise boundaries to compare notes."

Courion's approach to Access Assurance unifies Access Governance, Access Provisioning and Access Compliance in the most complex, heterogeneous environments. This comprehensive approach increases operational efficiency and transparency, strengthens security, and improves compliance, while delivering the industry's fastest time to value and lowest total cost of ownership.
