Control room visualisation system integration with Pelco products

Barco : 10 November, 2008  (Company News)
Barco and Pelco have worked together to integrate Pelco's range of products to Barco's streaming video solutions
Video security systems company Pelco and Barco announce interoperability of their streaming video solutions. Thanks to the open API standard used, Pelco's camera systems now perfectly integrate with Barco's streaming video solutions, offering customers ease-of-installation and integration with third party applications in their control room environment.

Barco has integrated support for Pelco's latest range of video encoders and cameras, all based on open API. As a result, Barco's streaming video solutions now directly communicate with the supported cameras and encoders. The interoperability ensures customers smoother installation and easier deployment while still allowing for a thorough integration with third party applications.

SVC-2, Barco's second-generation integrated streaming video card, offers unmatched performance for the simultaneous processing of large amounts of streaming video signals in real-time with minimal latency. The SVC-2 streaming video card is used in control room setups to visualize information streams from multiple suppliers as well as multiple compression technologies. The combined solution has already been deployed successfully in reference projects like the City of Lyon (France) urban CCTV system.

"The power of PELCO IP Cameras and Encoders linked with display solution of Barco increases considerably the vision experience of our customers", indicates Lantoine Stéphane, Business Development Manager for Integration at Pelco stated. "Pelco is pleased to be working with Barco in offering our customers our combined expertise in delivering high-end video security solutions."

"The interoperability of the SVC-2 with Pelco's video encoders and cameras demonstrates once again the flexibility and performance of Barco's streaming video decoding solutions," said Steven Ooms, Market Director Traffic & Surveillance at Barco. "Also, customers with existing SVC-2-based solutions can now enjoy the benefits of Pelco's encoders and cameras for monitoring additional video sources, while re-using or extending their original investment in the Barco real-time control room setup."
