Continued award success for Fortinet UTM product.

Fortinet : 12 February, 2008  (New Product)
Virus Bulletin awards eighth antivirus accolade on FortiClient, Fortinet's Unified Threat Management solution form Microsoft Windows Server.
Fortinet has announced that its FortiClient end-point security software has earned its eighth Virus Bulletin 100% (VB100) award for its robust antivirus capabilities. In this test, for antivirus products running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, FortiClient earned 100 percent marks in every possible award category. The product was also specifically recognised for its reliability and performance.

Well-known in the industry, the VB100 awards recognise products that have been tested by independent experts and proven to accurately detect 100 percent of viruses known to be 'in the wild,' constituting current, real-world viruses.

Virus Bulletin staff tested FortiClient 3.0 along with 26 other antivirus products for detection rates, lack of false positives and speed of scanning. This latest VB100 award adds to Fortinet's portfolio of technology certifications and accolades -- including eight VB100 awards, NSS Labs UTM certification and six ICSA Labs certifications (firewall, antivirus, IPSec, SSL VPN, Network IPS and antispyware).

"We are pleased that FortiClient consistently earns the highest detection rates in independent testing from accurate, trustworthy sources such as Virus Bulletin," said Michael Xie, Fortinet founder, CTO and vice president of engineering. "We remain committed to providing customers with intelligent and effective security solutions that offer reliable protection against today's malicious code."

Fortinet's FortiClient host security software helps address the need for secure access and endpoint protection for enterprises - including telecommuters, mobile workers, remote sites - and consumers. A unified security agent for personal computers and mobile devices, FortiClient integrates host antivirus, host anti-spyware, a personal firewall, anti-spam, IPSec VPN, Web filtering and registry monitoring. FortiClient supports the most popular Microsoft Windows operating systems, including both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Vista, and also includes network address translation (NAT) traversal, centralised policy management, multiple policy support for access to multiple devices, strong encryption and a comprehensive set of tools for troubleshooting. FortiClient supports 64-bit for both Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server.
