Container Manufacturer To Build Security Devices From GateKeeper Into Its Products

GateKeeper USA : 02 August, 2010  (Company News)
Smart Box Ventures to use the advanced automated container security devices from GateKeeper USA on its products for identification and tracking purposes
GateKeeper USA has executed an exclusive agreement with Smart Box Ventures (SBV) wherein SBV will purchase exclusively from GateKeeper USA advanced automated container security devices (CAMS). The CAMS devices will be installed in all of the Basalt Fibre Reinforced Polymer (BFRP) containers manufactured by SBV, thus creating the first commercially viable SmartBox in the industry.

The result of this joint venture will be the production of BFRP containers that are lighter, stronger, with better insulating qualities, last 5 times longer than conventional steel containers, and are also equipped with the above state-of-the-art CAMS device. The SmartBox will be available at a price comparable to an unsecured conventional steel corrugated container.

The CAMS devices to be utilized in the SmartBox will employ proprietary detection and identification technologies, which provide rapid, automatic and specific real-time detection, analysis, identification and quantification of the chemical, biological and radioactive and explosive compounds in all forms, whether in liquid, solid or gaseous states. The CAMS devices will also include Geo-Fencing (internal); Over Air Programming (OAP); Tamper Notification; and, CDMA Assisted - GPS Technology. The CAMS devices will be outfitted with proprietary compression algorithm technology enabling the device to transmit its signal in real time, worldwide, over the strongest available frequency. The CAMS devices are not RFID dependent. As a result, the SmartBox will clearly meet and exceed all current global maritime security protocols.
