companiestest collaborate on secure VPN

Integralis : 11 November, 2008  (Company News)
Global Crossing and Integralis co-operate to provide secure IP communication services for public sector organisations
Integralis and Global Crossing have combined forces in creating a comprehensive solution that provides highly secure IP services to the Government sector in the UK. By taking Integralis' renowned Managed Security Services (MSS) and wrapping them around Global Crossing's IP services, the companies have been able to create a simple yet unified offering that ensures customers deploy the very best in secure VPN networks.

Integralis has built a specific Security Operation Centre (SOC) to partner with Global Crossing's Network Operation Centre (NOC), providing enhanced and highly secure IP services to customers. The collaborative approach extends the NOC's capabilities by incorporating the MSS portfolio attributes, thereby ensuring resilient support for large numbers of devices and data. Other components of the MSS offering will also help customers to address issues around the increasing need to share critical data across different departments and multiple locations, rather than operating within their own departmental silos. This provides a more cost-effective solution while increasing productivity by removing barriers to sharing critical information.

In addition, the Integralis Security Information Service (ISIS) technology will be deployed in the SOC to provide event correlation, management and automated notification and reactive operation, helping Global Crossing to develop a comprehensive customer-facing portal for reporting, fault management and resolution.

"Integralis has a heritage in providing the very best of Managed Security Services (MSS) and rather than reinventing the wheel, it makes sense for Global Crossing to take advantage of this investment and provide a much needed service amongst our customers," commented Niall Anderson, chief marketing officer at Global Crossing EMEA. "Customers have already been very quick to take advantage of this partnership, with several looking to deploy not only the firewall element of MSS alongside our NOC, but the whole MSS offering. With this level of response we feel assured that this will be an extremely beneficial service to many businesses."

"We strongly believe that our collective expertise has created a unique proposition that will also appeal greatly to organisations in the government sector," added Graham Jones, managing director at Integralis UK. "Inter-government departments face many similar challenges to commercial operations and can feel assured that they are utilising a well-proven service from two established organisations with outstanding credentials in both the security and IP industries."
