Combined key control and asset locker system

Morse Watchmans : 23 September, 2009  (New Product)
The three cabinet SmartKey Locker system from Morse Watchmans enables asset control of laptops and radios with added key tracking facility
At this week's ASIS 2009, Morse Watchmans, the security industry's premier manufacturer of key control solutions, is featuring a three-cabinet configuration for storing and controlling assets. The versatile locker system is designed to accommodate laptop lockers, radio lockers and individual personal item lockers, further illustrating how asset and key control solutions from Morse Watchmans can be tailored for individual requirements.

"Fighting theft in the workplace is a challenge for most employers and Morse Watchmans' asset control systems can help to alleviate the problem," said Fernando Pires, VP Sales and Marketing, Morse Watchmans. "Our large cabinet lockers can be designed in different configurations and integrated with other security systems such as access control to provide enhanced protection of laptop computers, cell phones, weapons, cash drawers and much more."

The three-cabinet configuration on display at ASIS measures 82.5 inches wide by 29.5 inches tall and is controlled by a single console. Access to the modules is gained by entering an authorized code on the keypad, which can be programmed with up to 2000 individual codes. The system can also be designed to utilize a number of different types of cards or an integrated fingerprint reader to gain access. Its rugged stainless steel construction is complemented by an on-board alarm system that will sound if the unit is tampered with or if incorrect codes are repeatedly entered.

For more advanced integration, the system has a built-in RS-232 communications port for direct connectivity to printers or other devices, or network connectivity via Ethernet. When used with the Morse Watchmans Key-Pro Software, permission levels for various user codes can be established as well as an audit trail for detailed reporting activities. Items can be returned to any open locker and if they are not returned, the Key-Pro Software can send an e-mail alert to the system manager. When the system is integrated with an access control system, alerts can inform management if someone tries to leave the building without returning an item taken from a SmartKey Locker.
