Cloud Access Management System Gains ArcSight CEF Certification

Ping Identity : 30 April, 2010  (New Product)
Common Event Format Certification enables PingFederate to be used in conjunction with ArcSight's IdentityView for cloud access activity auditing
Ping Identity has announced that PingFederate has received Common Event Format (CEF) certification from ArcSight, a provider of security and compliance management solutions that protect enterprises and government agencies.

An open log management standard, CEF streamlines and simplifies integration of PingFederate's audit logs with ArcSight IdentityView. Using IdentityView for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) in combination with PingFederate for SaaS Single Sign-On allows customers to correlate and report on their users' Cloud access activity as easily as they correlate and report on users' internal activity.

"As more companies invest in the Cloud, they must have visibility to see who is accessing what, and how their entire IT investment and key assets are being used," said Chris Ceppi, director of global strategic alliances at Ping Identity. "With PingFederate's CEF support, they can be confident that they have the tools to secure their digital infrastructure."

PingFederate acts as a single control point for enterprise users accessing hundreds of leading Cloud services, including Salesforce, Google, Amazon, SuccessFactors and many others. ArcSight IdentityView, a specialized application built on the ArcSight SIEM Platform, can report on unauthorized user access and monitor internal controls, providing comprehensive collection and analysis of user activity across an enterprise. In partnership, these technologies will provide a user monitoring solution that extends from the enterprise to the Cloud.

"Our customers rely on the ArcSight platform to protect their enterprises from threats and risks, and they are increasingly linking their networks to the Cloud," said Rick Caccia, vice president of product marketing at ArcSight. "By linking ArcSight IdentityView with PingFederate, customers can better understand what their users are doing, whether inside the enterprise or in the Cloud. The result is better visibility and protection."

PingFederate's CEF certification is a significant milestone in Ping Identity and ArcSight's partnership to offer a joint solution that will give organizations in-depth visibility into activity across traditional applications, IT infrastructure and Cloud applications. CEF support in PingFederate will be generally available later this summer. Ping Identity is offering a limited preview release now.
