Channel partner added for distribution of Core Impact in the UK

Core Security Technologies : 14 January, 2009  (Company News)
BEWGlobal hired to expand market penetration in the UK for software-based security penetration testing
Core Security Technologies, provider of Core Impact, the most comprehensive solution for proactive enterprise security testing, has announced BEWGlobal as a channel partner as part of its efforts to meeting growing demand for software-based penetration testing worldwide. BEWGlobal is an Information Asset Protection and Network Security solution provider serving over 300 major corporate clients with offices in North America, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Australia and Singapore.

As Jason Ashley, Managing Director and head of BEWGlobal's European operations explains, "Requirements of both the PCI Data Security Standard and the ISO 27001 mandate have emerged as strong drivers, further establishing penetration testing as a security best practice for many different types of organisations."

BEWGlobal has already been utilising Core Impact as a major element of its security solutions process for a number of years. "Core Impact Pro offers significant value as the central component of any organisation's ongoing security process, especially when assessing security posture after carrying out configuration changes, or applying patches to applications or operating systems."

BEWGlobal also provides both sales and training around the use of Core Impact, and has already sold the automated penetration testing solution to a number of clients including, NHS Trust and a major financial services company in the UK.

"Core Impact suits our client base, specifically those organisations that would generally be uncomfortable using an open source or unsupported penetration testing technology on a production network," said Ashley. "Impact offers both the feature set and technical support framework that allows these clients to integrate regular penetration testing into their best practices, without incurring the potential costs that hiring external consultants to do testing would incur."

BEWGlobal is currently demonstrating Core Impact to a range of its existing clients and expects a number of those pilots to transition into fully licensed customers over the next few months.

"The UK is one of our fastest growing markets and the acceptance of automated penetration testing there is remarkably strong," said Jeff Clark, vice president of business development for Core Security Technologies, "Earlier this year, when we exhibited at the InfoSec show in the UK, the level of familiarity with the overall process, and interest in our products, was very high - both from end users and potential channel partners. We are currently in the process of qualifying and training a significant number of additional partners across both the UK and Ireland."
