CES Innovations Award For Conexant Systems

Conexant Systems : 10 November, 2010  (New Product)
Integrated chip-based audio solution from Conexant Systems chosen for Design and Engineering Award by CES Innovations
Conexant Systems' CX20709 speakers-on-a-chip audio solution was chosen as an International CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Awards recipient. Conexant's highly integrated system-on-chip (SoC) solution features proprietary algorithms that significantly improve audio and voice performance in a wide range of consumer devices including USB headsets, docking stations, and multimedia phones.

"We are honoured that our highly integrated audio solution was chosen as a winner in the prestigious CES Innovations competition," said Phil Pompa, senior vice president of product marketing for Conexant. "This award validates our ongoing commitment to developing enabling technologies that improve audio and voice performance for consumers and businesses globally."

The Innovations Design and Engineering Awards have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. The competition is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of the International CES, the world's largest consumer technology trade show.

Products entered in the Innovations award competition are judged by a panel of independent industrial designers, engineers, and members of the media to honour outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 35 product categories. The Innovations entries are judged based on the following criteria:

* Engineering qualities, based on technical specs and materials used
* Aesthetic and design qualities
* The product's intended use/function and user value
* Unique/novel features that consumers would find attractive
* How the design and innovation of the product compares to other products in the marketplace
