Certified data disposal offered in IT recycling service

Itlab : 19 September, 2008  (New Product)
Itlab offers UK businesses the ability to securely dispose of redundant IT hardware whilst observing ecological requirements and data security obligations
itlab launches its new IT hardware recycling service. Responding to ensure its clients are able to comply with UK and EU government WEEE legislation, and to encourage a greener outlook, itlab's service not only helps customers dispose of old hardware, it also includes the certified data disposal so vital for any company large or small. The new eco service adds another layer to itlab's extensive portfolio of support packages, which are all wrapped in the company's unique Service Obsessionâ„¢.

It is now illegal to dispose of old IT hardware in normal landfills. This has led to many companies struggling with what to do with their old kit and a huge rise in fly tipping. itlab has partnered with IT Green, a leader in the disposal of IT equipment, to manage the recycling of items including: printers, desktop computers, laptops, monitors, UPS batteries, servers, fax machines and switches. The service provides an ethical, environmentally friendly removal process for SMEs and recycles 98% of all waste received.

Dom Monkhouse, managing director, itlab; "All of our clients, whatever their size, upgrade their equipment. This new service offers an efficient way of incorporating the re-processing of equipment with the management of sensitive data storage devices. An audit trail is available as part of the disposal process and every client will receive a certificate confirming the disposal for their records. We believe passionately that in our current climate every client should be taking the green route when it comes to the disposal of old equipment."

The prices for this new eco-service is are:.

* Per item recycling = £20 + VAT
* Per disk destruction = £5 + VAT

Other items, such as keyboards and mice can be negotiated by volume.
