CCTV Specialist Appoints New Board Chairman

RapidVu : 02 June, 2010  (Company News)
Experienced Senior Executive from surveillance industry joins RapidVu to steer the company towards its strategic vision
RapidVu, the intelligent rapid deployment CCTV surveillance specialist has
announced the appointment of Peter Beare, former Derwent CCTV, Forward Vision
and Extreme CCTV managing director as chairman of the board.

The board of directors officially welcomed the new chairman earlier this week,
who will be supporting the management team in delivering its strategy and vision
for the future. The appointment reflects the growth of RapidVu's services over
recent years and re-affirms the company's long term commitment to the CCTV
industry in the UK.

'Everyone at RapidVu is determined to see the company rise to even greater
success,' said RapidVu sales director Adrian Kirk. 'With the appointment of such
a well respected chairman, we believe our progress so far is only the start of
what promises to be a period of significant growth not just for the company, but
the CCTV industry in general.'

Headquartered in Manchester, Rapid Vu is already established as a key player in
the supply of high performance CCTV systems and its solutions are ideal for
mobile applications. Small, light, portable and flexible, RapidVu has
established itself as the perfect solution for locations difficult to reach with
more traditional forms of CCTV and is attracting interest from a wide customer
base, including police, local authorities and anti-social behaviour (ASBO)
teams.

Commenting on his new role, RapidVu's new chairman Peter Beare said, 'I am
delighted to be accepting this new appointment with RapidVu. The business has
grown considerably in the last twelve months in a market that is clearly geared
for further expansion. This is a fantastic achievement for the RapidVu team and
I am very much looking forward to helping the company achieve even greater
success.'

With over 25 years in the industry; Peter oversaw business growth as CEO of £24
million security company Baxall Ltd for six years, prior to joining Ultrak where
as CEO/President he generated £4.5 million to support continuing operations. As
the chairman of B&B ARMR Corp, he was responsible for implementing new
manufacturing processes, with enhanced productivity worth over £250,000. In his
most recent role at the helm of Derwent CCTV, Forward Vision and Extreme CCTV,
his drive to establish European sales ultimately led to the company's smooth
acquisition by Bosch in February last year.

With news focusing on the spiralling costs and ineffectiveness of traditional
CCTV systems, RapidVu enables users to increase their surveillance resource
while reducing costs. The unique RapidVu technology solution captures real
evidence which can be used to reduce and prevent crime. The wireless,
intelligent technology can be used in non 3G areas at high speed, without the
usual delays associated with fixed line communications.

On the technology front, Video Analytics is available to track the movement of
people (RapidVu Track and Trace) and ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition)
is all part of the car park security suite. The great fear of wireless has
always been excessive network costs, but RapidVu allows customers to monitor
live streams in different locations simultaneously, 24 hours a day and 7 days a
week and all accommodated within a cost-effective monthly tariff.

'We are delighted with the appointment of such a respected and accomplished
business leader,' added Adrian Kirk. 'From his time at Extreme CCTV, Forward
Vision and many other companies, Peter's name has become a byword among
specialists in the security industry. He brings with him a considerable amount
of experience and a host of fresh ideas that will further enhance our strategic
expansion plans for the future.'

Peter Beare's appointment is the most high profile yet in a number of key senior
positions RapidVu is making to take advantage of the sudden growth in the mobile
CCTV marketplace. Further new announcements are anticipated in the near future.
