CA access management integration with Frontline

Digital Defense : 19 November, 2008  (Company News)
Software as a service meets web access control with integration between CA and Digital Defense products
Digital Defense (DDI) has completed integration testing between CA SiteMinder Web Access Manager and Frontline, DDI's unified SIAM offering. This integration illustrates how organisations can more easily deploy Frontline SaaS (Software as a Service) via the utilisation of identity and access management solutions that support Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) such as CA SiteMinder Web Access Manager. This new capability also translates into reduced operating expenses stemming from diminished administrative effort associated with establishing and maintaining access to Frontline for security and IT remediation resources across the client's enterprise.

"We are very pleased that Digital Defense has completed interoperability testing of CA SiteMinder Web Access Manager. Using CA SiteMinder to access DDI's Frontline offering helps improve the user experience through a single sign-on system. It also helps extend business reach by providing a platform for federation," explained Bill Taub, vice president of Global IT Security at CA.
Frontline supports a variety of applications such as Vulnerability Lifecycle Management and Information Security (IS) Policy Management. Frontline Vulnerability Lifecycle Management provides clients with enterprise-wide, distributed network scanning and penetration test results management on an on-demand basis. Frontline IS Policy Manager enables clients to better manage the establishment, dissemination and acceptance of information security policies throughout their enterprise.

"We are excited about the completion of our interoperability testing with CA SiteMinder Web Access Manager. The benefits of this integration are timely as organizations look for ways to reduce the cost and expense of maintaining the security of their business operations while not reducing the effectiveness of their information asset protection," said Larry Hurtado, president and CEO of Digital Defense. "An integration of this nature will not only improve operational efficiency, but also accelerate information security risk reduction by increasing the deployment velocity of web-based applications such as Frontline throughout the enterprise."
