Building Automation Solution Integration Using Open Technology Alliance

Honeywell Systems Group : 10 November, 2010  (New Product)
Honeywell's WIN-PAK CS 4.1 access control system integrates with the Immix security management software from SureView for collaborative holistic security systems
Honeywell has announced that SureView Systems has joined the Honeywell Open Technology Alliance, a collaboration that allows Honeywell to work with other manufacturers to share and integrate technology using open architecture and standards.

The collaboration offers integration between Honeywell's WIN-PAK CS 4.1 access control software and the SureView Immix software. Immix offers an additional level of security management to the WIN-PAK CS 4.1 access control platform, enabling video and intruder systems from Honeywell and other manufacturers to be displayed using a single graphical user interface. This allows end users the ability to manage and respond to alarms and events from one location.

"Honeywell's video and alarm systems have been supported through Immix for many years, but integration to WIN-PAK CS provides the missing piece of the puzzle for central stations requiring a fully integrated managed access solution," said Craig Evans, managing director, SureView Systems. "Because not all customers have the same security equipment, our customers can now use WIN-PAK CS with existing equipment."

"SureView, a company we work with across a number of regions, is strongly committed to supporting open architecture, and we're pleased to welcome them to the Alliance," said Jeremy Kimber, EMEA Strategy & Channel Marketing Director, Honeywell Security Group. "The goal of the Open Technology Alliance is to give manufacturers like SureView and their customers more choices when designing their security systems, and to make the integration of different technologies easier to manage."

SureView, through its Immix software offers comprehensive alert signalling coverage to the central station and through the integration with WIN-PAK CS 4.1 provides remote access control management without the need for onsite guard staff. It captures alerts and alarms from the onsite access control system and automatically integrates the alert with the facility's CCTV system.

WIN-PAK CS 4.1 provides a cost effective and easy-to-manage central station access control solution for businesses, while providing security installers with recurring monthly revenue opportunities.
