Branding Update Reflects Changing Approach from Databac

DataBac Group : 05 April, 2010  (Company News)
As ID specialist Databac enters its fourth decade, the company shifts its branding and corporate image to reflect its role as a pro-active ID management provider
ID specialist Databac Group is pleased to unveil its revamped corporate look, along with a brand new web site. The rebranding exercise reflects a subtle, yet important shift in policy from basic card manufacture to pro-active ID solutions provider, as the company celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Databac Group managing director Charles Balcomb said: "As we enter our fourth decade as manufacturer and supplier of complete solutions for identification, we thought it fit to introduce some changes in our corporate collateral that more closely reflect who we are and what we do.

"The days when orders came in and cards left the factory are gone. We have always been a friendly family business, but Databac today is much more involved with its customers - inevitably so, as ID technology has made giant leaps in complexity. We like to think of ourselves as partners, as outsourced ID consultants who help companies deploy chip, biometric and other technologies to meet their ID and security needs."

The new logo is a clean and simple evolution of the existing logo, while the new web site features a fresh design and intuitive navigation.

"For us, more than anything, the navigation is revolutionary. Our web site is much more than a show room of our products," said Balcomb. "It guides visitors through their needs from multiple perspectives - based on industry, application, product or service - to arrive at the required information. So, whether you are a hospital looking for RF wristbands, a multinational needing integrated access control and time & attendance, or a retailer in search of printed lanyards, our web site will help you assess your requirements quickly and easily."

Databac was established in Kingston, Surrey, on 1 April 1970 to provide paper and laminated data badges and cards. Its first technology cards were punch-hole Hollerith badges used by staff for 'punching in' in early time & attendance systems. The range has expanded to comprise most card technologies including newer developments such as dual interface and Java Cards.

Headquarters are still based in Kingston, but Databac now has a global presence, with an international distributor network and a dedicated sales office in Spain. Databac's product range has also expanded over the years, always within its remit of "complete solutions for identification." Besides cards and accessories, it now also provides biometric and card-based systems for access control, time and attendance and other ID applications, with an ever-increasing range of environmentally-responsible products.
