Human Recognition Systems (HRS) - a specialist biometric and identity management consultancy - is exhibiting at the Counter Terror Expo on 10-11 February at QE II London.

Focusing on mobile biometrics and intelligent video analytics, the HRS team will be demonstrating how biometrics and human behaviour analytics (HBA) can be used to improve perimeter protection and control secure zones to significantly reduce the risk of terrorism.

Mobile biometrics enables accurate identification of individuals whilst on the move, facilitating and rapidly speeding up the detection process. The UK police have already committed to mobile biometrics as part of project Midas, which will enable officers to do on the spot ID checks. The project is expected to deliver considerable efficiency benefits.

Human behaviour analytics uses intelligent video that has been programmed to identify unusual behaviour, including loitering and suspicious packages. This makes it ideal for border control or policing secure zones. Alerts can be sent direct to security personnel via text messages (SMS) or as an audio alert.

HRS is behind some of the UK's most important biometric and identity technology projects. These include Manchester Airport's staff access control - a UK first - and Pakistan international airlines.

The company also works with the MoD, the British Airports Authority and the UK's largest construction, retail and financial services companies - consulting, designing and implementing major biometric and identity management programmes.
