Biometric Identity Program To Be Developed For West Virginia

CSC (Contemporary Services Corporation) : 02 February, 2011  (Application Story)
CSC has been contracted to provide support for the implementation of a biometric identity management program for the state of West Virginia
TechConnectWV has awarded CSC an 18-month contract to develop, launch and implement a biometrics and identity program. TechConnectWV is a not-for-profit group dedicated to growing and diversifying West Virginia’s economy by advancing technology-based economic development. Under the terms of the agreement, CSC’s Identity Labs staff will work with TechConnectWV to advance West Virginia’s identity management industry and spur job growth, intellectual property development and sustainable business.

CSC will provide advisory and strategic services for the Biometrics Innovation Institute Program – a new organization which aims to accelerate biometrics industry growth in North Central West Virginia. Additionally, CSC will provide administrative and management oversight, technical evaluation and recommendations for a new grant awards program on behalf of and in concert with TechConnectWV. The program is funded by a grant from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation.

“Drawing on our broad range of identity experience with public- and private-sector clients worldwide and our unique understanding of the West Virginia biometrics community, CSC is ideally suited to provide the insight and expertise needed to successfully implement this program,” said Aaron Fuller, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector Enforcement, Security and Intelligence Group. “As a recognized industry leader, clients trust our extensive information technology and identity management expertise to provide flexible, workable solutions in identity management, biometrics, physical security, force protection, radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies and human location intelligence.”

CSC’s Identity Labs in Fairmont, W.Va., are centers of activity where expertise and technology combine to develop and test identity management solutions. CSC engineers and subject matter experts specialize in biometrics, cyber security, government regulations and vendor offerings.
