Biometric access control technology at US Naval base

EID Passport : 14 September, 2009  (Application Story)
RAPIDGate from EID Passport installed at naval centre in Monterey for rapid identity authentication and entry authorisation
Naval Support Activity Monterey has implemented the RAPIDGate Program to increase security and streamline access for the thousands of vendors, suppliers, service providers and contractors who access the installation. The RAPIDGate Program, a product of Portland, OR-based Eid Passport, is an identity management and access control program which includes company enrollment, employee registration, employment status validation, identity authentication, background screening, biometric verification and entry authorization.

Utilizing Eid Passport's patented program, employees who register for the program and successfully pass the background screening receive streamlined access to Naval Support Activity Monterey. The installation is home of the Monterey Naval Postgraduate School, Naval Security Group Detachment, Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center and the Naval Support Activity Monterey Bay.

"We are pleased Naval Support Activity Monterey has chosen the RAPIDGate Program to further secure the installation," said Eid Passport CEO, Steve Larson. "The RAPIDGate Program will aid force protection personnel in their mission to provide for the security and safety of the many active duty personnel, dependents and civilians on board the base".
