Bi-Directional People Counting Application For Axis Network Cameras

Aimetis : 26 March, 2010  (New Product)
The Aimetis People Counter is available for network cameras from Axis Communications comprising an embedded video analytics application that tracks bi-directional flow over user specified boundaries
Aimetis announces the launch of the Aimetis People Counter, an embedded Video Analytics software application. The application will be available for use with several Axis Communications network products, including one of the most popular cameras, the Axis P3301/-V Fixed Network Dome Camera.

The Aimetis People Counter tracks the bi-directional flow of objects as they pass a user defined boundary. The application is ideal for retail environments, schools, banks, recreation facilities, prisons, airports and other environments that require intelligent customer and operational insight despite constraints on budgets, bandwidth and IT infrastructure support.

"Aimetis is excited to be among the first to launch an embedded Video Analytics application on the Axis Camera Application Platform," says Marc Holtenhoff, CEO, Aimetis. "The Aimetis People Counter is ideal for both small and large camera deployments, providing an accurate stand-alone solution for leveraging video data for operational intelligence."

"Axis Camera Application Platform was launched so that our Application Development Partners continue to leverage their expertise and develop Video Analytics needed by the security market, while Axis focuses on building the best in network cameras," says Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Axis Communications. "The Aimetis People Counter does this by providing real-time intelligence and making it possible to use the camera both for surveillance as well as business intelligence - making the deployment of Video Analytics more scalable and cost-effective for end-users."

The embedded Aimetis People Counter executes video analysis and reporting directly on IP Video edge devices, eliminating bandwidth and hardware required for sending video data to a central server. In addition, The Aimetis People Counter integrates easily with Video Management Software, such as Aimetis Symphony, to make use of meta-data and enhanced functionality.
Aimetis People Counter will be available for purchase through distribution starting on April 15, 2010
