Behaviour analytics for CCTV surveillance.

Human Recognition Systems : 26 June, 2007  (New Product)
Human Recognition Systems to develop behaviour analysis techniques for threat prediction and prevention from CCTV images.
Human Recognition Systems (HRS) has announced its involvement in developing state of art CCTV software solutions that incorporate Human Behavioural Analytics. Working in close synergy with industry leaders in technology businesses, HRS has developed an impressive portfolio of intelligent CCTV solutions which focus on identifying humans and their behaviours. HRS Managing Director Neil Norman commented "Behaviour of people falls within a variety of ranges for example common, some unusual, some acceptable and some outside acceptable limits. Analysing this behaviour can provide clear indicators about a person's intention of engaging in disruptive activity."
Human behavioural analytics can be segmented into two specific areas; identifying humans by their behaviours and monitoring humans by their behaviour. Identifying people/terrorists who can/are about to facilitate a disruptive act can be achieved by using face recognition e.g. a hooligan banned from a football stadium. Face recognition is a computer-driven application for automatically identifying a person; it does that by comparing selected facial features in a live image mode.

The solutions offered by HRS besides using face recognition involve a variety of analytics e.g. Lurking Person - system will flag up person or persons that are seen to be "hanging around" or staying in a specific area for longer than is deemed necessary. Motion Detection - detect movement of someone in a specific area. Directional Motion - people who move in distinct patterns and do not stick to a specific path of motion for example moving backwards, forwards or sideways. Perimeter protection - the software platform automatically analyses video footage and alerts security staff of perimeter violation.

Human Behavioral Analytics is one of the most potent technologies to have emerged recently and is being used at high security facilities across the world to prevent incidents. The solutions provide automated viewing capabilities and are designed to leverage existing CCTV infrastructures. HRS builds intelligent layers onto systems based on business rules and principles, and works with organisations to realign process and policy accordingly. These intelligent solutions help overcome existing operator limits and improve organisational awareness helping secure Airports, Government Estates, Critical Infrastructures, Retail and Leisure Complexes and Finance and Commercial Operations.
