Axis offers new megapixel range at IFSEC

Axis Communications : 15 May, 2007  (New Product)
Axis displays the latest in IP and megapixel surveillance technology at IFSEC with the launch of five new surveillance products.
Axis Communications is the destination for visitors wanting to enhance their knowledge regarding the developments in IP-surveillance at IFSEC 2007 (Hall 20, stand 15045).

Visitors to the Axis stand will witness the unveiling of five new products in total, including a new family of MegaPixel cameras. Axis will be demonstrating its recently launched products at IFSEC, such as the new AXIS 247S Video Server which converts one stream of analogue video into high quality, full frame rate Motion JPEG or MPEG-4 video. This innovative server is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) and uniquely the server can also supply power to analogue cameras through PoE.

The recently launched AXIS 233D Network Dome camera will also be on display - aimed at the professional user, it is the world's first network Dome camera with progressive scan. Also, Axis will also be demonstrating its AXIS 12 blade video server-based solution that includes a 19-inch AXIS 291 1U Video Server Rack with a built-in Gigabit switch and space for up to three AXIS 243Q Blade Video Servers.

Axis will be showcasing their partnership with 47 exhibitors across IFSEC and will also be hosting twenty free seminars targeting IFSEC attendees over the four days of the exhibition in a dedicated seminar facility (Hall 17, Stand 23250). Seminar topics include migrating surveillance from analogue to IP, designing an IP-surveillance system and the benefits of megapixel. Axis will also be hosting a seminar which provides more detail about their 'Architecture and Engineering' (A&E) programme designed to support network architects, engineers and consultants who are responsible for developing IP-surveillance systems. Axis has teamed up with leading partners including Genetec, Proxim and Via Sys who will be present in their stand and will explain how their solutions integrate with IP-surveillance.

Axis is a participant in the main IFSEC seminar programme. UK managing director Steve Gorski will present an Axis success story from Hughes & Hughes, the Eire-based book retailer. Hughes & Hughes recently installed Axis network cameras throughout its books stores in Dublin Airport, in order to cut insurance fraud, thefts and support senior management decision-making. The presentation will be held at 1.45PM on Tuesday 22nd May 2007 in Hall 18 at the IP and Networking Seminar Theatre. Steve will also be presenting at the same theatre on Wednesday 23rd May at 12 noon, explaining how Axis has worked with Stockholm Transport to integrate network cameras across 2,100 buses and 113 train and metro stations.

Steve Gorski, managing director, Axis Communications (UK) Ltd, commented:
"We are confident that visitors who come to the Axis stand or attend our seminars can see the commitment our company has to push the boundaries of IP-surveillance further, whether this is through applications suitable to vertical markets, teaming up with partners or welcoming new consultants to what Network Video offers."
