Axis North American partner recognition for Firetide

Firetide : 03 December, 2009  (Company News)
Wireless network infrastructure provider for metropolitan surveillance systems recognized by Axis Communications with North American Partner of the Year award
Firetide has been awarded the North American Technology Partner of the Year 2009 by Axis Communications. Axis presents the award annually to its partner that best demonstrates the commitment to continued revenue growth, educating the market, and bringing new opportunities for Network Video solutions.

"Firetide has been a valuable partner to Axis over the past year with its innovative MIMO 802.11n mesh solution that allows for high frame rate streaming even at HDTV resolutions," said Fredrik Nilsson, Axis general manager. "In addition, Firetide has done a great job in educating the market about the technology and economic benefits of wireless infrastructure mesh networks, both for city center surveillance and industrial security."

Firetide and Axis have teamed up to deploy wireless mesh video surveillance solutions in, among others: Mission, Texas - the first such network in the Rio Grande Valley - to improve community safety and help deter border crimes; Faria Farms, Tulare, Calif., to protect workers and property, and support efficient operations; Buffalo, NY, to assist the Buffalo PD in fighting crime; the 1 million square foot Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles, Ill., to lower insurance premiums and keep shoppers safe; and in Phoenix to help the Phoenix PD protect Super Bowl XLII crowds and local citizens.

This past year, Firetide continued to aggressively innovate in wireless infrastructure mesh networks with four new product introductions including the company's groundbreaking MIMO solution with fiber-like performance, delivering real-world 300 Mbps outdoor and 400 Mbps outdoor performance with less than 1 ms latency per hop. The MIMO infrastructure mesh enables new opportunities in large-scale video surveillance and can support dramatic increases in throughput requirements for high definition, MegaPixel and thermal imaging video streaming.

"We value the partnership we've built with Axis. Together we provide state-of-the-art wireless video surveillance systems with fiber-like performance for a demanding customer base that requires evidence-grade video to investigate crime and secure convictions," said Bo Larsson, chief executive officer of Firetide. "We have jointly deployed some of the most successful security systems in the world and we look forward to another productive year working with Axis in 2010."
