Award Recognition For OCS Security Team

OCS Security : 15 July, 2010  (Company News)
Prevention of anti-social behaviour and contribution to the reputation of the Aberafan Shopping Centre leads to BSIA award for OCS Security
The OCS security team at Aberafan Shopping Centre in Port Talbot recently won BSIA National Team of the Year at the British Security Industry Association awards. The awards were presented at the BSIA AGM and Annual Lunch at the London Hilton.

Security staff were nominated for their vital role in improving the reputation of the shopping centre and for working in conjunction with the police to maintain its security measures and procedures. The team is led by Chris Morgan MBE, who was recently honoured by HM the Queen for his work in reducing crime in and around Aberafan shopping centre and tackling anti-social behaviour in the town centre.

This is the fourth time that the team has been honoured with a BSIA award and shopping centre manager Steve Redmore congratulated the team saying, "Once again, I am absolutely delighted that the team at Aberafan has won the prestigious BSIA Team Award. Winning this award, recognises the hard work, dedication and commitment each member of our team, strives to achieve on a daily basis. Their loyalty to the centre and to OCS is unsurpassed and their sense of ownership ensures that the high standards that are set at the centre are achieved. They deserve every accolade."

OCS and the Centre management team have set up a scheme called the Business Crime Reduction Partnership to tackle problems such as anti-social behaviour. As well as helping to reduce crime at the Centre by 75%, the scheme has developed into a national initiative run in conjunction with the police, local authorities and the Home Office.
