Award-winning designer helps Securesight develop theft deterrent

Securesight : 10 July, 2009  (New Product)
Floodlight range of theft deterrents from Securesight to benefit from design input from innovative young UK designer
Award-winning designer helps Securesight develop theft deterrent
Securesight has just announced that it is teaming up with award-winning young designer Oliver Blackwell to develop its next generation of innovative theft deterrent solutions.

Securesight's managing director Simon Holmes said, "Oliver was winner of the Daily Mail Concept Designer of the Year award in 2005, an award won ten years earlier by James Dyson, and this year he is one of eight finalists in the British Airways Great Britons awards. We are delighted with the collaboration which is part of our programme of bringing new products to the security market."

One of Oliver's first projects will be to further develop Securesight's VL1 3-in-1 digital security camera floodlight range with a new enhanced version, combining many new features with a great new design. The Securesight VL1 scooped silver in the Best New Security Product category at this years Totally DIY Show awards 2009, exciting the interest of the judging panel with its innovation and consumer appeal.

The VL1 is an easy-install theft deterrent solution that leaves no hiding place for the opportunist thief. It automatically records high quality photos and video clips up to 60 seconds long onto an SD card whenever movement is detected, day or night, as well as illuminating the intruder with a bright 500w floodlight.

The beauty of the product is that it is a standalone unit that simply needs to be connected to a 240-volt mains outlet - as easy as wiring a standard outdoor security light. The user gets the peace of mind of CCTV at an affordable retail price of around £120 incl. VAT without the time and hassle of extensive cabling and professional installation.
