A strategic partnership has been struck between Harris Corporation and Applied Signal Technology for improved penetration into the Government communications market |

Applied Signal Technology has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Harris Corporation to explore broader defence and security market opportunities. Harris Government Communications Systems (GCS) selected AST to be part of its Strategic Subcontractor Partnership Program (initiated in 2008) to enhance supply chain relationships with critical industry partners.
Under the agreement, the two companies will actively look for joint ways to provide expanded signals intelligence (SIGINT) value chain offerings to the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense. Examples of potential benefits to be derived from this agreement include collaboration and strategy development toward pursuit of new business opportunities, shared technology development, improved business process and program execution, investment leverage, and identification and entrée into new markets and customers.
"Our companies have enjoyed an excellent working relationship over the past decade. Strategic partnering is an effective vehicle to grow market share, accelerate opportunity creation, and strengthen competitiveness," said William Van Vleet, Chief Executive Officer of Applied Signal. "This agreement reinforces our valued relationship with Harris GCS, provides a unique forum for persistent engagement at the executive levels of both companies, and ultimately ensures our mutual customer base can enjoy the depth and advantages of the critical mission-enabling technologies each company offers."
"This agreement affirms our companies' strong mutual commitment to bring maximum value to our customers by offering innovative, integrated solutions to their most challenging mission needs," said Sheldon Fox, President of Harris' Government Communications Systems.
