Army network access control from ForeScout

ForeScout Technologies : 24 July, 2009  (Application Story)
CounterACT will be used by the US armed forces for network access control
ForeScout Technologies has announced that CounterACT is uniquely equipped to deliver port-based access control for the LandWarNet. Port-based access control is a key requirement for network security as outlined in the Defence Information Systems Agency (DISA) Access Control in Support of Information Systems Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).

"The key advantages that CounterACT brings to LandWarNet are its ability to meet the STIG's access control requirement with or without the need to first deploy 802.1X, while seamlessly integrating with DoD-approved tools such as the eEye Digital Security Retina Network Security Scanner." In both cases, CounterACT greatly reduces the overall cost and time of deployment.

"CounterACT is the first NAC solution to be added to the US Army Information Assurance Approved Products List (AIAAPL) and has a four-year history of achievements with the DoD, such as test completion at key proving centres, FIPS-140 Level 2 compliance, receipt of Common Criteria certification, and more," said Gord Boyce, president of ForeScout Technologies. "In short, CounterACT offers a rigorously tested and proven solution that meets the Army's high standards for security, ease-of-use and deployment, low end-user impact, and interoperability with existing remediation solutions and infrastructure requirements."

ForeScout plans to exhibit its CounterACT NAC appliances and demonstrate port-based control and DoD toolset integration at LandWarNet 2009, Booth# 836, Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 18-20.
