Army diagnostic contract awarded to DRS.

DRS Technologies : 01 November, 2007  (Application Story)
Diagnostic and test equipment to be delivered to US Army for verification of on-board vehicle systems.
DRS Technologies has announced that it has been awarded multiple contracts since July 2007 totaling $26 million from the US Army's Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command in Rock Island, Illinois, to produce test equipment and provide diagnostic program support for the Army's office of Program Manager for Heavy Brigade Combat Team in Warren, Michigan.

The work for these contracts is expected to begin immediately with completion expected by May 2008, and will be performed by the company's DRS Test & Energy Management unit in Huntsville, Alabama.

DRS will be responsible for manufacturing the hardware and software of Direct Support Electrical System Test Sets, and providing system technical support, technical updates and program management for the combat team's Chassis Modernization/Embedded Diagnostic program.

"The US military's commitment to the long-term sustainability and reliability of their ground combat vehicles demand they have the best diagnostic systems at their disposal," said Michael Sheehan, president of DRS' Tactical Systems strategic business unit. "Our world class diagnostic systems can help ensure these vehicles are always in excellent working order and ready to be deployed at any moment."
