APX Alarm Sponsors Utah Fraud Conference

APX Alarm : 05 July, 2010  (Company News)
Utah University fraud conference to focus on issues faced by local residents which expose them to the risk of becoming victims of fraud
APX Alarm Security Solutions announces its sponsorship of the first annual Fraud College Conference held at Utah Valley University.

"APX Alarm is committed to protecting and securing the futures of families," said APX Alarm Senior Vice President of Sales, Shawn Brenchley. "The Fraud College Conference is a wonderful opportunity to help educate and provide greater awareness to a growing problem facing all families."

Last year alone, financial and affinity fraud severely impacted the lives of over 4,400 families in Utah. The financial impact from this pernicious problem is devastating with estimated losses in Utah approaching $1.4 billion.

Panelists included experts from the FBI, Security and Exchange Commission as well as other financial, legal and religious leaders. Utah Governor Gary Herbert also spoke to attendees of the conference.

"In this era of proliferating deceptive investment schemes, Fraud College aspires to help the community speak with one voice; to support and educate the public, and to help people be more aware of the latest anti-fraud protection. In particular, the conference will enforce the need to continually be vigilant about the ways to protect and educate Americans," said Brent Baker, co-founder of Fraud College and a securities lawyer.
