As a leader in providing the online gaming industry with stronger protection against fraud and abuse, fraud management solutions provider, iovation, will speak at the 5th Annual Combating Cybercrime in Betting & Gaming Conference in London. iovation’s vice president of marketing, Scott Olson, will discuss strategies that meet challenges in controlling money laundering in the online gaming community. His presentation, “Combating Money Laundering: Using Device ID to Expose Hidden Account Relationships,” will take place on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 12:20 pm GMT.

As the online gaming industry faces more complex challenges in controlling money laundering, many Internet gambling sites are taking proactive measures to identify and curb more sophisticated money laundering techniques. This session will cover what fraud management tools are available that can help online gamers prevent money laundering from occurring. Topics of discussion will include:

* How fraud teams can unearth fraudulent transactions across their systems.
* How device identification exposes fraudulent users and their associations with multiple accounts.
* What measures online gaming sites are taking to prevent advanced money laundering schemes.

Scott Olson, vice president of marketing at iovation, is a recognized thought leader in the security industry. He has had articles published in publications such as Casino & Gaming International and Computerworld, and has spoken at security events including RSA and Digital ID World. Scott began his career as an early member of the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team, where he tracked hackers and protected, tested, and monitored Air Force sites. He co-founded WheelGroup Corporation (acquired by Cisco in 1998), which produced NetRanger, the first commercially viable intrusion detection system (IDS).

The talk entitled “Combating Cybercrime in Betting & Gaming Conference” will occur on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, 12:20 – 12:45 pm GMT at Earls Court Conference Centre, London.
