i2 and ELSAG North America, a supplier of Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) products, are pleased to announce a partnership that will facilitate rapid deployment of i2 advanced analytical capabilities on ELSAG ALPR back-office command centre.

The integration between the two technology sets through off-the-shelf connectors will open new avenues to Law Enforcement and Intelligence analysts by combining information-rich ALPR data with additional sources, which could help kick-start or deliver the key to an analysis. "Our primary goal is to bring our customers new technologies that will help them accomplish their mission. We believe ELSAG's system holds data that can be critical to an investigation and will add valuable capability to our powerful Intelligence-Led Operations Platform launched earlier this year," says Guillaume Tissot, VP Product Marketing with i2.

ELSAG North America manufactures the Mobile Plate Hunter 900 (MPH-900), the most advanced and accurate licence plate reader technology. Used in all 50 US states, the MPH-900 reads up to 1,800 licence plates per minute in all kinds of weather, light and speed conditions. Systems are deployed in both mobile and fixed applications at local, state and federal level agencies around the globe.

"This partnership helps our customers maximise their investment in camera infrastructure by releasing the investigative power LPR data can provide," says Mark Windover, ELSAG North America CEO. "The combination of the two offerings delivers real-time intelligence to help in the fight against crime and terrorism. We believe this partnership between industry leaders furthers our two companies' mission-driven commitment to the law enforcement community."

This announcement follows the launch of i2 Plate Analysis at the 116th IACP annual conference in Denver, a solution that brings advanced analytical capabilities such as geographical profiling, convoy analysis and target vehicle identification to i2's award-winning products i2 iBase and i2 Analyst's Workstation.
