Advanced Technology Workstation Uses Biometric Software From Aware

Aware : 22 March, 2010  (Application Story)
Biometric image and fingerprint capture and analysis capability brought to Lockheed Martin's ATW using COTS software from Aware
Aware has supplied biometrics software for Lockheed Martin's Advanced Technology Workstation (ATW). Lockheed Martin recently announced that they had successfully delivered the first ATWs for the Next Generation Identification (NGI) system. ATW includes several COTS Aware software products, including NISTPack, WSQ1000, AccuPrint, and AccuScan.

"Aware's partnership with Lockheed Martin goes back to the earliest days of automated biometric identification, when we collaborated to enable advanced fingerprint capture and quality assurance," said Rob Mungovan, vice president at Aware. "We are pleased to again be contributing best-of-breed biometrics technology to the most advanced biometric identification system in the world."

Aware's software products are valuable to system integrators because they provide advanced biometric image and data processing functionality in highly modular, easy to use components. They can also be used to extend the lifetime and reduce the ongoing maintenance costs of a biometric hardware/software solution, because they are kept synchronized with evolving technology standards, and also with new hardware devices as they become available, including fingerprint live scan devices, digital cameras, and flatbed scanners.
